TIPSY + OLAMIDE-ROCK THE PARTY

Not to be confused with OluwaTipsy the female artiste, this is Tipsy [real name - Tope Cole], an On-Air Personality and a song-writer of the male gender; having worked with the likes of Freestyle, Frenzy and Ex-O, he returns with a follow-up single as he lays claim to that much coveted name. Back in the month of October in the year 2012, the singer released a single titled "Girl On Point", which featured Yemi Alade and Hakym [Lamba King]; the year 2014 sees him with a come-back single which was recorded a year ago but stays pertinent with the sounds of today.

Featuring YBNL Nation's very own Olamide who drives home his Rap verse as usual,Tipsy unveils his newest single titled "Rock The Party" which sees him flaunting his singing acquisition and creativity over a Techno Dance tune sporulated by the veteran hit-maker,ID Cabasa; as stated, this song is being released to the general public for their listening pleasure a year after it's recording and as would be seen, it's uniqueness fits in with time as music lovers are sure to have this on their playlists for a while.

This come-back is seen as a positive move for the On-Air Personality and song-writer who is releasing this single under the Mame INC. emblem; listen up, share your thoughts and expect more singles from the bloke. | ENJOY!!!

REVIEW: SEAN TIZZLE-THE JOURNEY AS SEEN ON WPGM

The Journey is the debut offering from Nigerian artist, songwriter and entertainer Sean Tizzle (Tiz), whose massive 2013 Summer Jam “Sho Lee” set him up as one of the most bankable up and coming artists in the notoriously fickle Nigerian music scene.

There wasn’t much perceptible anticipation for the album’s release and that has worked out well for the artist. He stayed under the radar to deliver what is the album of the year thus far. A 17-track album that does much to demonstrate what the ‘Afrobeats’ genre is about; a collection of top notch beats that hint at the producer’s interest in posterity. I’d stack D’Tunes’ production on this album against any of those old school joints which the older generation of Nigerian music listeners always rave about.
The work laid by Sean Tizzle on The Journey cannot be underrated, his hunger is evident, there is no clear stand out track as every song appears to be crafted with the same careful attention as the last, and thanks to him, live instrumentation is finally given its well deserved place on a Nigerian album. If Sean Tizzle hones the live performance aspect of his art, he will be able to satisfy any audience, on any level.

There are too many good songs to choose from, but the album reaches stellar heights with “Loke Loke” featuring the increasingly husky 9ice, “Perfect Gentleman“, “Kilogbe Remix” featuring Olamide and Reminisce, “Arewa“, “Mama Eh“, “I Got It” and “Igi Orombo” featuring Tiwa Savage.
At first glance however, the album seems too long but this seems to be the standard practice for Nigerian albums in the 21st century – 15-track plus releases that’ll work better if pared down, but I don’t have any complaints here though and sans the unnecessary addition of “Kilogbe” (because the remix is a more interesting delivery of the track and it differs only from the original in that it features appearances by Reminisce and Olamide), I’ll gladly take the album as it is. Oh, KCee, Ice Prince and Naeto C did not do their guest spots any justice but never mind that, the production and Sean Tizzle himself carry the songs, so you won’t even notice.

In sum, I’ll refer to the song “Duro” where he asks tentatively if an object of his affection will keep him or leave. Although he is talking about or to a nameless fleet-footed chick, I’d posit that the question is aimed at an easily distracted audience. And we should definitely keep Sean Tizzle, The Journey has shown that the boy is no fly by night artist, he’s got his eye firmly on the prize.

Sean Tizzle and D’Tunes have made such good music here, I’ll be playing the album for a long time and I suspect the same goes for most people who buy it and you should buy it, you won’t be disappointed. I would give The Journey a near perfect score but there is still room for improvement, he must resist the temptation to give into gibberish lyrics, he does himself a disservice on that front because he is much better than that, so much more.

CHRIS BROWN BACK IN JAIL FOR PROBATION VIOLATION

Singer Chris Brown might spend another week behind bar, pending negotiation with prosecutor after he violated his parole.

According to CNN Chris Brown must stay locked up in the Los Angeles County jail for at least another week while his lawyer negotiates with the prosecutor about his probation violation, a judge said Thursday.
Brown attended a hearing Thursday wearing an orange jail suit, just hours after a cross-country trip from Washington to Los Angeles on the federal government's inmate transport system, informally known as "Con Air."
"He's doing remarkably well under the circumstances," Brown lawyer Mark Geragos told CNN. "It's a challenging situation to be in."

Geragos and Assistant District Attorney Mary Murray agreed to hold talks over the next week concerning Brown possibly admitting that he violated his probation. If that happens, it will be announced at a hearing next Friday. Otherwise, the judge will set a date for a trial on his probation revocation.
"I'm hoping we get it resolved and we get it resolved quickly," Geragos said after the hearing.
Geragos said he would also file a motion to have Brown released from jail, which would be considered at the May 9 hearing.

Brown, who turns 25 next Monday, spent most of the past week traveling back to Los Angeles following a delay in the start of his trial on a misdemeanor assault charge in Washington.
U.S. Marshals, who took Brown from the Los Angeles County jail for extradition to Washington four weeks ago, handed him back to Los Angeles Sheriff's deputies just hours before Thursday's hearing, according to Deputy U.S. Marshal Laura Vegas.
Brown's probation for the 2009 beating of ex-girlfriend Rihanna Fenty was revoked after his Washington arrest. He's spent the past six weeks in custody and previous five months in court-ordered rehab.
