ON REPLAY: MAYOR WETE-MAWOMI
MAYOR WETE-MAWOMI |
Indigenous Yoruba crooner Mayor Wete returns to the limelight with his exciting new single “Mawomi” - the first in over three years for the Ogun State native. Now signed to Dozage Records, Mayor Wete is in flying form on “Mawomi” which is an outstanding indigenous Nigerian Pop song that is bound to get your head bopping, your feet moving and an 100% party starter for the clubs and dance floors in the coming months.
Meticulously mixed and mastered by Trybe Records’ Sheyman and superbly delivered by Mayor Wete - mostly in his trademark Yoruba dialect - over a catchy and infectious musical backdrop which is provided by Lala - who has also produced for the likes of the late great Da Grin, YQ and SABI - and led by lush drum patterns, bass guitar arrangements and trumpet injections, “Mawomi” is more than a triumphant return to form for the aboriginal Yoruba singer and songwriter.
“Mawomi” is out NOW via Dozage Records and is a MUST LISTEN but do not just take our word for it, DOWNLOAD below…

ON REPLAY: DJ KHALED-HIPHOP FT NAS, SCARFACE & DJ PREMIER
Speaking of the devil, DJ Khaled unleashes arguably the most anticipated track from his upcoming Kiss The Ring album with “Hip Hop”, a boom bap-driven, piano-steered number featuring two top drawer verses from veteran emcees Scarface and Nas, and expert scratches by Mr. Hip-Hop himself, DJ Premier. Khaled’s built quite the reputation for hopping on whatever’s hot (which often includes heavy bass, a Rick Ross verse and/or incessant squaking), but props are due here; this is true school hip-hop revived for the new era.
Stream “Hip Hop” in its Funk Flex-tagged form below, and stay tuned for a full CDQ version to surface soon. Kiss The Ring drops August 21st.

THE UNTOUCHABLE MAYBACH PRESENTS RICK ROSS, DR. DRE AND JAY Z IN 3 KINGS
If you don’t know by now, today (July 31) is the release of Rick Ross‘ new album ‘God Forgives, I Don’t.’ To celebrate, the Miami rapper dropped a video for ’3 Kings,’ his a celebratory track of health and wealth featuring Dr. Dre and Jay-Z.
The directorial team of Dre Films helmed what’s being called a “MMG Visual Piece” for ’3 Kings,’ which chronicles the glorious rise of Rozay, Dre and Hova in the rap game. The clip intercuts various footage of the trifecta’s career milestones.
With Dr. Dre, we see him riding out in Chevys, collecting his Source awards, mentoring his proteges Snoop Doggand Tupac Shakur as well as touting his business savvy with Beats by Dre headphones. “I built this house, n—a get your own s— / I only love it when her hair long / You should listen to this beat through my headphones,” he raps.
In Rozay’s video collage, visuals of Pablo Escobar, cocaine and cash are shown to represent the street life that also consumes the tropical city of Miami. But we also see images of the Bawse riding in the Maybach and on motorcycles with his Maybach Music Group superstar Meek Mill.
THE BIGGEST BOSS, RICK ROSS DISCUSSES MAYBACH MUSIC GROUP AND HEALTH
To celebrate the release of his latest album, God Forgives, I Don't, Rick Ross stopped into BET's "106 & Park."
"I think the first thing I should do is thank the fans and supporters," said the Bawse to a raucous crowd. "It's a big day for me. I want to say thank you."
Ross also briefly spoke on his Maybach Music Group roster. "MMG, man. Just watching the whole MMG brand go to the next level, and we gotta welcome Rockie Fresh to the team. Shout out to Omarion. It's just exciting. Gunplay, murda!"
A recent video of Ross playing basketball raised questions about whether the Miami emcee's health has improved. Last year, Ross suffered two seizures, apparently due to lack of sleep. "Yeah, health-wise, I'm feeling a lot better. I'm gettin' a little sleep, you know what I'm saying? It's all love" He quipped.
