Emerging UK-based Nigerian singer and songwriter Pechstyle is proud to unveil his official debut single titled “Selele”, as he draws upon his Highlife and Afrobeats sensibilities to great effects, to create a beautiful love song, not only for our listening pleasure in 2014 but also, for our wedding playlists for years to come.

Pechstyle is proving to be much more than an Afrobeats singer, with his versatility ranging from R&B to Afro-Pop to Reggae and Highlife, as is evident on “Selele”. Blessed with sultry smooth vocals, songwriting dexterity, and originality, we can expect greatness from Pechstyle going forward.

Following the release of the catching and highly infectious tune back in the month of January, the Young D produced "Sexy Nana" by well-endowed and buxom Janelia has gone on to accrue hits on online platforms, the clubs as well as on radio; we would recall that she put out a "Sexy Nana" dance competition and also dished out the meaning of the song at some point before releasing the "Behind The Scenes" video for the offering. In March, she let out 2 versions of the Afro-Pop single, asking fans and music lovers at large to vote their pick; alas, the Miguel Asua directed/Lex-Ten edited version seem to be the front-runner on this and in her words:

SOMI [UGANDA & RWANDA]- THE LAGOS MUSIC SALON

 

 

Somi, the NY-based songstress of Ugandan & Rwandan background, is readying the release of her major label debut The Lagos Music Salon  for Sony Music. The delicate, piano-accompanied Last Song infuses the singer’s previous jazz-oriented excursions with experiences she had while spending 18 months in Ilorin and Lagos. 

 

The Lagos Music Salon, out August 5 in the US, will feature swaying grooves like that below alongside fast-paced Afro-beat-inspired collaborations with Angelique Kidjo and a hip-hop leaning track with Common, among others.
